A Prayer Service for the Lower Secondary students (5th-7th grades) was held in the school hall on 20th June, 2023 to invoke the blessings of the Almighty and seek His grace as they embarked on the academic year 2023-24.
The assembly began with an introductory prayer, which established a reverent and meditative tone. The students passionately sang the song “This Little Light of Mine,” reflecting their collective faith as a group.
The program continued with a scripture reading, followed by a reflective session. Students were encouraged to ponder upon the teachings and insights presented in the passage, fostering spiritual growth and contemplation.
A special prayer was offered, encompassing various aspects essential for a successful and fulfilling school year. The prayer encompassed themes such as the pursuit of academic productivity and happiness, gratitude for the unwavering support of parents and guardians, responsible stewardship of the Earth, and the aspiration for peace in our world.
The assembly concluded with a final prayer, followed by the uplifting hymn “Thank you Lord,” expressing gratitude for the blessings received. To further inspire and motivate the students, a short motivational video emphasizing the importance of not comparing oneself to others was screened. The video served as a reminder of the unique journey each student embarks on and encouraged them to focus on personal growth and progress.
In his address, Fr. Principal shared an inspiring real-life example of a former student, highlighting the transformative power of education and determination. He commended the video and its themes, acknowledging its relevance in fostering a positive mindset and self-belief among the students.
To bring the assembly to a close, the vote of thanks was delivered wherein, a student from class X, Angel Rebiro, in sincere words, expressed her gratitude to the school administration, teachers, and fellow students for organizing the much-required Prayer Service. The Welcome Assembly Prayer for the Lower Secondary students proved to be an uplifting and enriching experience, setting the tone for the academic year ahead. It provided an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and inspiration, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the students and staff of Don Bosco High School & Jr. College.
