DON BOSCO PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL, NAIGAON EAST

SR.KG.  CULTURAL DAY – 23rd March 2024

23rd March marked yet another eventful day in the annals of Don Bosco Pre-Primary Section, Naigaon (E), when all the 139 tiny graduates of the Sr. Kg. stepped on to the stage in a show of their prowess in the English language and other classroom learnings such as singing, dancing and story-telling.

The confident little comperes, hosting their own Cultural Day programme, took the audience by surprise, even as they ushered in each item of the evening, with professional showmanship and ease. Their counterparts, a bunch of three, welcomed the esteemed guests setting the tone for a memorable evening followed by 27 prayerful hands that lit their lamps in a synchrony of dance, inviting God’s blessings on all those gathered. Likewise another set of three thanked the guests as they bid them adieu, leaving them with many images to reminisce for the rest of the evening.

Complimenting the ‘Welcome’& ‘Thank you’ speeches were the two choirs of 50 celestial voices who kept their parents in rapture with their welcome and thank you songs.

The three skits, ‘The Fox and The Crow’, ‘The Pigeon and The Ant’ and ‘The Farmer and His Sons’, each bringing out the message of trust, friendship and unity, stole the show. The enactment of these little plays by 34 budding actors, complimented ably by 39 feet tapping dancers, demonstrated the comprehension of the stories they learnt in class and their proficiency in articulating and annunciating their dialogues. Dressed in costumes that brought out the character they were playing, the children were transported to their favourite wonderland.

The evening concluded with a standing ovation by the parents for the dedication, commitment, hard work and creativity of the staff, even as Father Edward D’Souza, the Guide of the Pre-Primary Section, impressed on the audience the training, planning and preparations put in by the staff.

Many parents were in great appreciation of the programme and of the staff. To quote a couple of them: “I must say the preparation was really very good. All the children performed amazingly. The Teachers’ efforts got a good result. Thank you”. And yet another posted: “The function was really good. Great efforts were taken by teachers. Hats off to you”

We bow our heads in gratitude to God for the many good things that have come to pass this academic year and we look forward to another fruitful year.
