MAHARASHTRA DAY – FLAG HOISTING

1ST May, every year is celebrated as Maharashtra Day, as it marks the day Maharashtra attained its statehood way back on May 1st, 1960. It is a day of great pride and joy for the people of Maharashtra, who celebrate it with enthusiasm and fervour. The Management and staff of Don Bosco High School & Jr. College Naigaon, assembled on the school ground for the flag hoisting, to commemorate the day. The Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis in his speech extended his greetings to the staff reminding them that the day was also celebrated as International Labour Day. He expressed his thoughts saying, “Maharashtra Day offers us an opportunity to remember with gratefulness, great visionaries and leaders of the past who dedicated their lives for the cause of promoting social equality, education, empowerment of women and eradication of blind faith.”
