India’s 75th Independence day was celebrated in Don Bosco High School & Jr. College, Naigaon with great fervor and patriotic zeal. The students escorted the chief guest, Rev. Fr. Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis the vice principal, Rev. Fr. Joaquim Fernandes and the administrator Rev. Fr. Edward Dsouza to the School Hall. The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Dominic Martis hoisted the Indian tricolour with great reverence and all in unison saluted the flag, sang the National Anthem and repeated the pledge. A short cultural program followed with a spectrum of heart-touching patriotic songs , dances and speeches presented by students from the Pre-Primary, Primary , Secondary and College Section. The chief guest, Rev. Fr. Dominic Martis addressed the gathering and congratulated the participants. His message highlighted the need for each one of us to be responsible citizens, so as to enjoy the democracy and freedom our brave warriors of the past fought for.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by a student of the secondary section. Students went back to their classrooms and sweets were distributed. The Rangoli Competition, Tree Plantation Drive and Essay Competition commenced right after the celebration.

Indeed, it was a day woven together with joy, love and respect.
