Don Bosco High School – Investiture Ceremony
The annual Investiture Ceremony at Don Bosco High School, Naigaon, was held with great enthusiasm and fervour on 6th July, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone in the school’s calendar, signifying the formal bestowing of responsibilities on the newly elected student council members.
The ceremony began at 9:30am with the arrival of the Management members and the esteemed guests, including the SSC toppers and their parents. They were escorted to the school hall by the student council, accompanied by the beat of the band. The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome song and dance, followed by a prayer service and a prayer dance, establishing a solemn atmosphere for the ceremony.
The SSC toppers were felicitated by the principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca. He congratulated the toppers for their performance and praised them for their dedication. The principal also honoured the SSC students who had achieved top scores in the Board exams through self-study, without attending any tuition classes.
The Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis, blessed the badges and then addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of leadership and the role of the student council in maintaining discipline and fostering a conducive learning environment. He stated, “The badges and sashes you wear today symbolize the trust and responsibility placed upon you. Uphold the values of our school and lead by example in all your endeavours.”
Following the rector’s speech, the much-anticipated investiture ceremony began. The principal conducted the oath-taking ceremony. The newly elected Head Boy, Brajvansh Singh, and the other council members solemnly vowed to uphold the school’s values with dedication, lead by example, and diligently work towards the school’s improvement.
Each council member was called upon to receive their badges and sashes, symbolizing their new roles and responsibilities. The audience applauded as the newly appointed leaders received their insignias, marking their official entry into the student council.
In his address, the principal commended the students for their exemplary leadership qualities and urged them to be role models for their peers. He emphasized the significance of integrity, commitment, and teamwork in their new roles.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by teacher Annie Derin, who acknowledged the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The investiture ceremony was a grand success, instilling a sense of responsibility and pride among the newly elected leaders and inspiring the entire student body to strive for excellence.
