On a special day at Don Bosco High School, six newly ordained priests: Fr. Avil Correa, Fr. Nathaneal George, Fr. Agnel Dias, Fr. Selvin Dmello, Fr. Vinay Ganawa and Fr. Jeswin Mastan visited the school to celebrate Holy Mass with both the staff and students. The occasion was a moment of reflection, inspiration, and connection as the priests shared their life stories and personal experiences with the school community. The visit was an opportunity for students to gain insight into the path of priesthood and the significance of holiness in everyday life.
The priests, with a deep sense of devotion, celebrated Holy Mass accompanied by meaningful hymns, scripture readings and reflections, drawing all in attendance closer to God.
Following the Mass, the priests took time to engage with the students and teachers, sharing their individual journeys to the priesthood. Each priest spoke candidly about the challenges and joys they encountered along the way, offering encouragement and wisdom to those who may one day follow a similar calling. Their life stories reflected not just their devotion but also the ways in which they integrated faith into their daily lives. They spoke about the importance of living a life of holiness in the midst of ordinary activities, such as schoolwork, friendships, and family life
The students were eager to ask questions, and the priests responded with warmth and sincerity. They emphasized that holiness is not confined to extraordinary acts, but can be found in the way we live our everyday lives, by showing love, kindness, patience, and respect to others. The priests encouraged students to find sanctity in their daily tasks and interactions, reminding them that small acts of love and service can be powerful tools for living a holy life.
The visit ended on a joyful note as the staff and students gathered to honour and congratulate the newly ordained priests. A cake was cut in celebration of their ordination and their shared commitment to the service of God and the Church. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and excitement as everyone expressed their admiration for the priests’ vocation. This visit was a powerful reminder of the importance of faith in all aspects of life and the encouragement to live with purpose and holiness.
Through this event, the school was not only able to celebrate the joy of the priests’ ordination, but also to foster a spirit of faith, unity, and hope among the students and staff. It served as a meaningful opportunity for everyone to reflect on the spiritual journey and the profound impact of living a holy life.
