Don Bosco High School & Jr. College Naigaon, organized an exhilarating Inter-House Patriotic Song and Dance Competition on 2nd August, 2024. The event aimed at fostering a sense of national pride and unity among students of the Primary and Secondary Section, while showcasing their artistic talents. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from all four houses: Red, Blue, Green and Yellow.
The competition commenced at 10.30am, in the school hall and was divided into two main segments: Patriotic Songs and Dance Performances. Each house was allocated a specific time slot to present their acts. The performances were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising the Vice-Principal, Fr. Joaquim Fernandes and external professionals, Ms. Suman Dutta and Ms. Nisha Bharatkar. The judging criteria included artistic expression, creativity, coordination and adherence to the patriotic theme.
Each house presented a selection of patriotic songs, showcasing both traditional and contemporary compositions, captivating the audience with their harmonies and energetic performance.
In his address, the Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis, conveyed his gratitude to all students and teachers for making the competition so vibrant with their enthusiasm. He emphasized that the spirit of patriotism should endure not just for the present, but indefinitely, by serving as champions of peace and democracy where every citizen can live happily and peacefully in every corner of the nation.
After a thorough deliberation, the results were announced by the Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca. The Inter-House Patriotic Song and Dance Competition was a resounding success, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm and commitment to celebrating national pride. The event not only provided a platform for students to express their patriotism but also fostered camaraderie and healthy competition among the houses.
