SCOUT GUIDE CAMP FOR STD. VIII

The students of Std. VIII enthusiastically participated in their first Scout and Guide Camp held on 13th March 2026, embracing the spirit of the theme, “Together We Serve.” Around 165 students, accompanied by their camp masters, took part in this enriching experience conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

The day commenced with the traditional BP exercises followed by the flag break ceremony, setting a disciplined and energetic tone for the camp. The Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis, addressed the gathering and inspired the students to live by the Scout motto, “Be Prepared.” He urged them to remain alert, responsible, and ready to face life’s challenges with courage and confidence.

A short trek in the nearby vicinity added an element of adventure to the day. During the trek, students were encouraged to observe their surroundings and collect clues, which were later used in various team-based games, fostering observation skills and teamwork.

The camp truly came alive with hands-on activities such as tent pitching, gadget making, and corner decoration, where students displayed creativity, resourcefulness, and collaboration. The spirit of healthy competition continued with food and salad-making contests, encouraging teamwork, planning, and basic life skills.

Post lunch, the students showcased their talents during the cultural programme, presenting meaningful skits, songs, and dances that highlighted values such as service, unity, and environmental awareness. The performances reflected confidence, creativity, and a deep understanding of the camp’s theme.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the efforts and achievements of the participants. Awards were presented for Best Scouts and Guides, Best Troop Leaders, and winners of various competitions.

The camp proved to be a memorable and transformative experience, instilling in students the core values of discipline, teamwork, leadership, and service. It not only strengthened their practical skills but also fostered a sense of responsibility and camaraderie, truly living up to the spirit of “Together We Serve.”
