INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR AT DON BOSCO’S NAIGAON

Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour at Don Bosco’s Naigaon

Don Bosco High School and Jr. College Naigaon, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India, on 15th August 2025, with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the days leading up to the occasion, students had prepared beautiful art and craft articles ranging from festoons to paintings, all based on patriotic themes and the need to protect our environment.

On August 15th, the celebration began with a spirited Prabhat Ferri, where students marched with pride, raising slogans of patriotism that echoed through the surroundings. The highlight of the morning was the flag hoisting ceremony. The flag was hoisted by Mr. Sanjeev Majumdar, Supervisor of the College Section, together with Mrs. Antonio Sa, a valued support staff member who is soon to retire. Their participation lent a special significance to the occasion.

The cultural programme was vibrant and inspiring, featuring patriotic songs, speeches, and dances presented by students. Each performance reflected the spirit of freedom and love for the nation.

In his address, Mr. Sanjeev Majumdar highlighted Don Bosco’s philosophy that true education extends beyond academics, nurturing values that shape children into responsible, compassionate, and honest citizens. He urged educators, parents, and society at large to work hand in hand in building a stronger, kinder, and value-driven India. Following this, the Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the programme.

The entire event not only kindled patriotic pride in the hearts of students and teachers alike but also reminded everyone of their duty towards the nation and the environment. The celebration was a fitting tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and a call to uphold the values of unity and responsibility.
