A CELEBRATION OF GRATITUDE, TALENT AND BOSCO SPIRIT

Marking another milestone in its journey of holistic education, Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon East, celebrated its 26th Annual Thanksgiving Day on 7th February 2026 with great enthusiasm. The highlight was the musical production The Lion King, organised under the guidance and leadership of the Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca and Vice-Principal, Fr. Joaquim Fernandes with nearly 700 students participating in various roles.

The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Ashley Miranda, the newly appointed Salesian Provincial of the Mumbai Province. The Guests of Honour included the Vice-Provincial, Rev. Fr. Robert Pen, and the Economer, Rev. Fr. Gregory D’Almeida.

The programme began with a welcome dance, followed by the Rector, Rev. Fr. Dominic Martis, expressing gratitude to parents and staff for their constant support. He highlighted the values of family, courage, responsibility, and self-acceptance, affirming that true peace comes from embracing one’s role in life with courage and integrity.

A solemn prayer dance followed, captivating the audience with its divine music and graceful synchronisation, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere.

During the felicitation ceremony, dignitaries were honoured, Best Students and SSC and HSC toppers were recognised for their achievements, and special appreciation was given to SSC student Gauri Gurav for representing Maharashtra and winning the Dr. Talimeren AO Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–2026. The school documentary effectively showcased a diverse range of academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities conducted throughout the academic year.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Ashley Miranda reflected on his Don Bosco student days and credited the institution for shaping his life despite humble beginnings. He urged parents and staff to value the opportunities provided, emphasising that such opportunities have the power to shape one’s future.

The musical production, The Lion King brought Disney’s iconic characters to life through a breathtaking performance. The production enthralled the audience and kept them deeply engaged throughout.

The programme concluded with the Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca, expressing sincere gratitude to the Management and staff for their dedication and teamwork.

The Annual Thanksgiving Day thus served as a true reflection of the Don Bosco philosophy of holistic education, where academic excellence is harmoniously blended with moral values, creative expression, leadership formation, and the nurturing presence of educators who guide the young with reason, faith, and loving kindness.
