“FAITH, SERVICE, AND SILVER JUBILATION”

Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Naigaon East, joyfully celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Anthony Fonseca on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, in the school hall, in the gracious presence of students, staff, parents, and members of the management.

The occasion was a heartfelt thanksgiving to God for 25 years of Fr. Anthony’s devoted service to the Church and education. The programme began with an entrance hymn based on his motto, “Here I am, Lord,” followed by a welcome dance and the lighting of the lamp, symbolising faith and service. Scripture reading, a thanksgiving prayer, and a prayer dance enriched the celebration. A student address and floral tribute expressed gratitude, while the Vice-Principal, Fr. Joaquim Fernandes, highlighted Fr. Anthony’s pastoral zeal and valuable contribution to the institution.

Fr. Anthony and the members of the Management were then formally invited on stage. A meaningful citation, read by Fr. Joaquim Fernandes, eloquently captured Fr. Anthony’s priestly journey, values, and impact over the past 25 years. The joyous occasion was marked by the cutting of the Silver Jubilee cake, symbolising thanksgiving and celebration. The programme also featured a skit and a captivating audio-visual presentation titled “Journey Through 25 Years,” which traced the milestones of Fr. Anthony’s vocation and service, evoking admiration and heartfelt applause.

The celebration reached its emotional peak with the address by the Jubilarian, Rev. Fr. Anthony Fonseca, who expressed deep gratitude to God, his fellow priests, colleagues, students, and well-wishers for their love, support, and prayers throughout his priestly life. He shared his experiences and journey of faith, highlighting moments of challenge and grace, and encouraged the students to remain rooted in values, respond generously to God’s call, and use their talents in the service of others and society.

The programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks, leaving everyone inspired by Fr. Anthony’s example of faith, humility, and committed service.

The Silver Jubilee celebration of Fr. Anthony Fonseca was a truly memorable occasion, strengthening the spirit of gratitude, unity, and faith within the Don Bosco family.
