Empowering Educators: Session on Bullying and Emotional Development
As part of our ongoing commitment to teacher development and student well-being, a special session on “Bullying: Emotional Development and Career Guidance (EDCG)” was conducted for the teaching faculty.
The session, led by Mrs. Olivia Almedia, addressed the urgent issue of bullying—an aggressive behaviour that negatively impacts students’ emotional and academic growth—and equipped teachers with tools to understand, prevent, and manage it effectively within the school setting.
The key aim was to deepen teachers’ understanding of how bullying affects students' emotional development and long-term confidence, and to explore the role of EDCG in fostering a healthier, safer learning environment.
The session provided valuable insights into:
Through real-life examples, case studies, and reflective discussions, teachers gained a clearer perspective on how bullying manifests and how to recognize early warning signs.
This session proved to be highly beneficial and empowering for the educators in several ways. It enhanced their emotional intelligence and empathy, enabling them to better understand students’ behaviours and emotional needs. The session reinforced the importance of creating a positive classroom climate where every student feels valued and protected. It also highlighted how career guidance, even in early stages, can help students rebuild confidence and set healthy, goal-oriented paths after experiencing bullying.
The session served as a powerful reminder that teachers play a pivotal role not just as educators, but as mentors and protectors. By equipping teachers with the right knowledge and emotional tools, EDCG continues to promote a school culture where safety, empathy, and growth are at the core of every student’s journey.
